We’re so excited to have you join us for a fun-filled and memorable Thanksgiving. To help everything run smoothly, here is a quick overview of what to expect during your stay.

Quick Overview

CHECK-IN PROCESS

Arrival Time

Check-in will begin at 4:00 pm on your day of arrival.

Check-In

Just a friendly reminder that your balance must be paid in full before any key cards are given out to any members of your party. Additional guests within your party will need to know the name on the reservation to check in. Please contact us if you need this information.

Location

Check-in will take place at the Front Desk in the main lobby. You may use 471 Kanuga Chapel Dr., Hendersonville, NC 28739 for your GPS

What to bring to the front desk

The credit card provided at check-in will be the card used for any on-site purchases or other incidental charges during your stay. Please have your ID ready in the event verification is needed.

PETS

Unfortunately, guest pets are not permitted during the Thanksgiving Guest Period. Only certified Service Animals are permitted. We do ask you to join us with your pets anytime outside of the Guest Period dates!

OUTSIDE GUESTS VISITING YOU AT THE PROPERTY

Any guests who plan to visit you, but not stay overnight, will need to check in with the Front Desk for their parking pass and pay any dues for meals they wish to join us for.

CHECK-OUT PROCESS

Departure Time

We know that leaving is always the hardest part. Families are asked to check out by 10:00 AM on their checkout day. Please kindly empty your fridge and remove all your trash to the nearest receptacle, and our Housekeeping team will take care of the rest.

LOST & FOUND

Be sure to check the Lost & Found table in the main lobby before you leave! You may also visit the Front Desk to fill out our Lost & Found form for any items that you cannot locate.

Dining Hall & MealsGather Round the Table

We will offer gluten-free, Vegetarian, and Vegan options for meals. If you have any special dietary needs, please note them here through the Guest List Registration Form if you have not already done so. Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult at the buffet and may not visit the dining room without a supervising adult. Please help us minimize food waste and be good stewards by monitoring your family’s portions.

Your reservation includes your table and the cost for the Thanksgiving Day Feast!

Join us in the dining room at any point within the noted timeframe at any table. There’s no assigned seating. Announcements will be made at 8:30 am, 12:20 pm, and 6:20 pm daily.

The Shop at KanugaGet in the Spirit

The Shop at Kanuga has red Christmas hoodies for the entire family (toddler through adult sizes), ready to ship for the holidays! They come complete with a removable white pompom on the hood! Show us your best Kanuga family holiday photo. We now have Apple Pay and contactless payment. If you cannot or prefer not to use contactless payment, request a Lodging Account Expenditure Form at the Front Desk to use contactless pay.

CleaningHousekeeping Services

Housekeeping will be offering linen and towel services on Friday for all cottages & guest houses. Inn rooms will be serviced upon request of hanging your “service” sign outside your door. We will arrive between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM for servicing.

If you would like to request additional Housekeeping services, feel free to email our staff here or fill out a request form at the Front Desk. Our team will respond as timely as possible to all requests between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Kanuga does not store guests’ personal items year-round. Please remember to take all personal items home with you!

Summer Book Club

This summer, we’re gathering around Theo of Golden by Allen Levi, a story filled with goodness, hope, and questions worth exploring together. The novel beautifully reflects our theme, “Love Makes Room.” Pick up a copy before you arrive and come ready for meaningful conversation with friends old and new.

Poetry and Story for a Sunday

Local poets, storytellers, and community voices will share their love of this place, from beloved summer camp traditions to the living memory of Hurricane Helene. Each week will feature different voices and genres, inviting us deeper into the landscape and community that make Kanuga home. Sundays at 4:00 p.m. in the Fireplace Lounge.

Join Mary Kait for a hands-on Shiitake Log Workshop! Learn to grow your own mushrooms and take home a ready-to-grow log for $10. All materials provided—just bring your curiosity!

Crafting in Minkler
