ASKED QUESTIONS
Have questions? We’ve compiled helpful information to assist you before arrival.
Can I bring my pets to Summer Guest Period?
Pets* are not allowed during Summer Guest Period, but we invite you and your furry family to join us any other time throughout the year.
*Service animals are permitted
How does the “Waitlist” work?
Our Waitlist opens while you are on-site for Early Bird Registrations. It is first come, first serve. Once all Traditional Occupants have responded to the Winter Registration form, we will then know our general availability and our Reservations Department will contact you based on our available options at that time. No guarantees can be made. The waitlist is refreshed at the end of each year and starts again at Early Bird Registrations.
When will General Availability open?
General Availability for 2026 will open by March 1st.
General Availability for 2027 will open by February 1st.
How can I stay up to date on availability?
If you have been added to our Waitlist, our Reservations Department will reach out to you with any available options for you before we open for General Availability. Once we have opened for General Availability, an email blast will be sent out to all who have subscribed to our mailing list. You may also call at any time, but availability may not be known until after Winter Registrations have concluded. Be sure that our communication emails are not marked as spam in your email settings. Invitation Letters and Winter Registrations will be sent out via mail merge from reservations@kanuga.org.
Pricing and Inclusions
Booking our Summer Advantage Rates will include lodging, all meals, programming, and activity fees for all guests in your party up to the maximum occupancy of the accommodation. Booking as leisure through staykanuga.org will include your lodging and breakfast for all guests in your accommodation the next morning. Lunch, Dinner, and Activity fees can be purchased separately.
Where can I find the week’s activities and programming?
A complete schedule of all the week’s activities and programming can be found outside the dining hall on the Activities Board or by visiting the designated website you’ll receive access to before your stay.
Do I have to sign up for activities?
Activities that have a participant limit, team structure, or payment require signing up to reserve your spot.
Do I have to pay for any activities?
Paid activities are entirely voluntary. We offer sound baths and off-campus trips for the 15-18 year old age group, both of which require sign-ups, and payment is accepted at the front desk.
What happens if it’s raining?
If it’s lightly raining, we do our best to continue to provide activities as planned. If it is raining heavily and/or thundering, activities will either be relocated or canceled depending on the activity.
Are there age minimums for any activities?
Some of our activities require adult supervision/co-participation for those under the age of 16 to ensure a fun, safe experience for all. These activities will be noted on the weekly schedule.
What if I have an allergy or special dietary need?
No worries, we’re happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions to the best of our ability. You can list any needs/restrictions in the initial registration form.
What if we want to go on a hike and take bagged lunches?
Please reach out to the F&B Team 24 hours prior to your request. We will have you fill out the To-Go Lunch form with your request.
For any needs while you’re in the dining hall, just find a Kanuga staff member and we’re happy to assist. Please note that children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
When does housekeeping come to clean my accommodation?
Housekeeping services are offered once (midweek) during your stay. You may request fresh linens and towels any time, and you will also have access to cleaning supplies.
We will arrive at your accommodation between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.:
- Tuesday – Cottages 1-29, Inn floor 1, Fox, Delchamps, Neihoff and Munroe cottages
- Wednesday – Cottages 30-39, all guest houses, Inn floors 2 and 3
Please request additional housekeeping services at the Front Desk with 24-hour notice.
Who do I notify if I have a maintenance issue or need more towels/toilet paper?
Please let a Front Desk agent know, and we will serve you as soon as we’re able.
What is a Traditional Occupant?
A Traditional Occupant is a guest who has stayed in the same accommodation for at least two (2) years in a row. By the end of the second year, the guest has established themselves as the Traditional Occupant of that specific accommodation.
How do I keep my status as a Traditional Occupant?
To keep your status as the Traditional Occupant of your specific accommodation(s), you must return to each Guest Period, year after TOs are allowed one (1) Skip Year every five (5) years. If a second Skip Year is taken in the same five year window, then the Traditional Occupant rights have been forfeited and another guest will be offered the opportunity.
What is First Right of Refusal?
Traditional Occupants will always have a First Right of Refusal. You will be added to the email list that is sent before registrations officially open for your specific week of Guest Period which allows you to register early and lock in your accommodation before we open to the public.
Can I swap or move weeks?
Swapping accommodations within the same Guest week or moving to another Guest week will both incur a Skip Year to your Traditional Occupant status as you must remain in the same accommodation year after year. Detailed records of each year are kept by the Reservations Department.
